I learned how to knit back in my early 20's. I was taught by a very talented fiber artist named Holly. She gave me knitting lessons in exchange for babysitting her son. Over the years, I have made relatively simple projects like scarves and afghans. I made the switch over to the dark side a couple of years ago. Now I am a hooker and proud of it. I LOVE to crochet. Why?! Because it's easy, fast, fun, quick, relaxing, and you get to play with all sorts of beautiful colors and fibers.
My favorite place to go locally... Uniquities in Vienna . I am also so happy to have found a great selection of yarn at Walmart and AC Moore. AC Moore sells yarn from Stitch Nation, the site of one of my favorite books, Stitch n' Bitch ~ The Happy Hooker...it was from this book that I learned how to crochet.
Here are some fun links... Sarah London + Why didn't anyone tell me?.

But wait! There's more! Check out what is hitting the runways! The Granny Square is back!
These photos are from The House of Holland.
My next project is to master the Granny Square. I hear they are easy as a wink. I hope so. I don't think I will make a dress out of them.... I just want to make a blanket. And there is this wonderful charity project called Crochet a Rainbow you can donate your Granny Squares to if you have some extras lying around.
Do you like to crochet? What projects are you working on? What tea do you like to drink when you are crocheting? I'd love to hear from you!
